Welcome!

These monthly newsletters (from January 2011 to present) are to help us all be more prepared. They are written for the Hurricane Utah Stake (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,) but everyone is welcome to make copies. Many other groups and individuals are using them. (Note: Garden tips are for Southern Utah. You may need to adjust to fit your climate.)

June 2026 Back to Basics Newsletter

Click here for a complete copy of the June 2026 Back to Basics Newsletter.

The month of June is famous for weddings, no school, flag day, lots of missionaries heading out, and pretty comfortable temperatures! We are picking garden veggies, the fruit trees are beginning to produce, and there are plenty of evening hours to fit in lots of adventures. It is also a great month to fit in some preparedness planning as you make your adventures fit in with preparedness goals. The garden and orchard provide meals – and we can bottle or freeze for the storms ahead. Those camping and hiking trips can provide family togetherness – and some real time practice to see how we do with our outdoor cooking, no power nights, and conserving water. Let us use this wonderful month to add to our preparedness. Use TODAY to prepare for TOMORROW – with no regrets in how we used our time – to PREPARE!
